Building Resilience through EMDR

Objectives and Summary:

This training will provide an overview of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and discuss why this modality is useful when treating fire service members experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and related symptoms. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of EMDR therapy, how it works and why it is an effective modality in treating trauma experienced by fire service members. This webinar is appropriate for fire service members, treatment providers, family members, spouses or anyone who is curious to learn more about EMDR.

Hannah Elmore is the Clinical Outreach Coordinator for the IAFF Center of Excellence through Advanced Recovery Systems. Hannah works with first responders through connection to behavioral health resources, providing education, and offering support. Hannah educates on behavioral health topics pertaining to the fire service and first responder communities to departments, peer teams, families and clinicians. Hannah is a certified IAFF Peer Supporter.

Carlye is a Licensed Professional Mental Health Service Provider and Certified EMDR practitioner. She serves on the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Task Force and their First Responder Task Force. She is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management/Debriefing. As the Founder/President of the Tennessee First Responders Foundation, Carlye is dedicated to promoting mental wellness among first responders and advocating for better resources and support for those who serve our communities.
