The evidence-based treatment at the IAFF Center for Excellence is in place to make sure you’re getting the highest-quality care from certified doctors, nurses and clinicians who understand your specific needs.
At the IAFF Center for Excellence, we treat the whole person from the inside out. Our staff is qualified to treat co-occurring disorders, such as PTSD, depression and anxiety, to ensure success during recovery.
Your experiences and challenges are unique to you. Our goal is to get you back to living the life you deserve. We’ll work with you to develop individualized treatment and recovery plans to get you there.

Located just outside Washington, DC, in the forest hills of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, our 15-acre facility is designed just for IAFF members, with a pool, basketball courts, a gym and comfortable residential areas with 70 beds.
We want you to feel at home at the IAFF Center for Excellence. That’s why we designed it with the firehouse in mind, to make treatment as comfortable as possible. You’ll find familiar touches throughout the common areas and residences.
At the IAFF Center for Excellence, our state-of-the-art gym, pool area and outdoor facilities encourage physical activity and mental reflection with the goal of healing the body, mind and spirit.
To offer treatment for successful recovery from post-traumatic stress and addictions and help IAFF members return to the job.
