Diving Deeper into Polyvagal Theory, Self-Care, and Post-Traumatic Growth for First Responders

Objectives and Summary:

This webinar is designed to expand on the previously discussed concepts of Polyvagal Theory. Polyvagal Theory is a strength-based, trauma-informed, “bottom up” approach that recognizes the importance of improving physiological health, safety, and social connection. Participants will review the autonomic hierarchy and explore ways to promote states of well-being, joy, calm, social connection, post-traumatic growth, and neuroplasticity (brain change). Additionally, participants will utilize Polyvagal Theory and “The Healthy Mind Platter” to recognize areas of lifestyle improvement and current strengths in their self-care routines. Lastly, participants will consider the language of the body, emotions, and mind.
