This training will introduce IAFF members and affiliate leaders to important considerations for health insurance coverage, with a focus on behavioral health services.

IAFF Healthcare Advisor and Fort Worth Local 440 President Emeritus Jim Tate, will share insight on evaluating health care plan options and negotiating comprehensive coverage for members. Special consideration will be given to common pitfalls found in behavioral health coverage, such as a lack of access to services for post traumatic stress and substance use disorders.
This presentation will also walk attendees through how to verify that their specific benefits plan covers the unique treatment options available through the IAFF.
