Fire Family Dynamics: Promoting Healthy Home Lives

This training on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. (EST) will identify and discuss strategies fire service members and their families can implement to promote positive family dynamics.

All families are different, with unique experiences, intricacies and stressors, but there are many common themes, especially among those with members employed within the fire service. We will discuss patterns seen among fire service families, providing attendees with a greater understanding of how these patterns may develop and how to identify their own family’s strengths and areas for improvement.

Attendees will gain insight into the fire service culture, how family systems and patterns may be impacted by work in the fire service and best practices for increasing healthier dynamics.

Healthy Relationship Building and Maintenance for Fire Service Couples

This webinar on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. (EST) will focus on best practices for building and maintaining healthy relationships between fire service members and their partners, with a focus on effective communication, respect, affection and empathy.

We will also address common stressors within the fire service occupation and the impact these may have on a member’s relationship with his or her significant other. Attendees will learn strategies for improving and strengthening relationships, gain a greater understanding of the characteristics of a healthy relationship and methods for changing unhelpful patterns with their partners or families.

Fire service partners, spouses, significant others and family members are encouraged to attend.
